The Accounting and Tax Applications program provides comprehensive instruction in accounting, law, and tax courses, establishing a strong foundation in legal and financial matters, and offers hands-on training in accounting software packages used in the industry.

In the Accounting and Tax Applications program, students learn computer techniques and advanced administrative and financial accounting practices both theoretically and practically. They are trained to be professionals who understand the basic principles and concepts of accounting and taxation, can easily use accounting software packages, and fulfill their legal responsibilities. In addition, our students complete a 30-day (working days) internship at the end of the first year to gain experience in the field of accounting.

Students who graduate from the Accounting and Tax Applications program can work as assistants in Certified Public Accountant and Sworn Financial Advisor offices. Graduates can also work as accounting staff in banks, insurance companies, tourism, construction, and industrial enterprises. They can work in the accounting departments of all kinds of public institutions and organizations, banks, insurance companies, international companies, the accounting and finance departments of all kinds of private companies, the relevant departments of foreign trade and financial institutions, and the accounting services of commercial enterprises. After graduation, graduates of the Accounting and Tax Applications Program can transfer to Bachelor's Degree Programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM. After completing their bachelor's degree, they can become “Certified Public Accountants” if they complete a three-year internship and pass the Certified Public Accountant Exam.

The necessary qualifications for students in the associate degree program in accounting and taxation can be listed as follows:

1. Theoretical Knowledge Qualification

  • Fundamentals of Accounting: Understanding accounting concepts, the accounting cycle, and the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Tax Legislation Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the Turkish tax system, income tax, corporate tax, VAT, and other types of taxes.
  • Financial Management Knowledge: Knowledge of business budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis methods.
  • Legal Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the legal responsibilities of businesses, commercial law, contracts, and labor law.

2. Applied Skills

  • Ability to Use Accounting Software: Ability to effectively use computer-based accounting software (e.g., e-ledger, e-invoice).
  • Preparation and Interpretation of Financial Statements: Ability to prepare financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and perform analysis based on them.
  • Preparation of Tax Returns: Correct preparation and timely submission of tax returns.
  • Digital Accounting Applications: Ability to use e-transformation tools (e-invoicing, e-ledger, etc.) and digital tax applications.

3. Communication and Collaboration Skills

  • Effective Communication: Ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and presentations, and communicate effectively in the workplace, both verbally and in writing.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work on collaborative projects, communicate with different departments to achieve common goals.
  • Customer Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with customers on accounting and tax matters, provide consulting services.
