In a seminar organized at Cizre Vocational School of Higher Education (Cizre MYO), students came together with representatives from İŞKUR and managers from private sector companies to discuss career and employment opportunities.

As the Spring semester of the 2024–2025 academic year comes to an end, Cizre MYO students are preparing to enter the business world. To inform prospective graduates and share experiences on topics such as job search processes, effective CV preparation, the importance of interviews, employer expectations from new graduates, the significance of digital transformation in the business world, career opportunities, and the necessity of institutionalization, faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferhat Şirin SÖKMEN from the Department of Economics at our university’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, İŞKUR Cizre representatives, and executives from Ford Dönüşüm Otomotiv A.Ş. visited our school.

İŞKUR Cizre representatives Mr. Salih ABAY and Mr. Rıdvan DENLİ shared their knowledge and experiences with students on topics such as services provided to young entrepreneurs, effective CV writing, the importance of interviews, the significance of youth entrepreneurship, and how to turn ideas into projects.

Mr. Özal ERGİN, Sales Manager at Ford Dönüşüm Otomotiv A.Ş., provided insights into employer expectations from new graduates, the qualifications needed to succeed in the business world, the importance of digital transformation, career opportunities, institutionalization, and gender equality in the automotive sector.

Mr. Servet GİRESUN, Service Manager at Ford Dönüşüm Otomotiv A.Ş., addressed the challenges faced by new graduates in the workplace, key points to consider during recruitment processes, career opportunities offered by Ford Otosan A.Ş., and the levels of financial and technological literacy required in the sector.

İleyna KURTULUŞ, a graduate of the Accounting and Tax Department at Cizre MYO currently working in the accounting department of Ford Dönüşüm Otomotiv A.Ş., and Nergiz BAYAT, a student from the Accounting and Tax Department at Şırnak MYO, shared their job search experiences with prospective graduates and discussed the differences between theoretical education and private sector working conditions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferhat Şirin SÖKMEN emphasized that both nationally and regionally, the level of financial literacy and technological knowledge demanded by private sector companies has become a critical factor in the job search process due to ongoing digital transformation.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and refreshments offered to students by Ford Dönüşüm Otomotiv A.Ş.
